Beautiful Days of Summer

As the Summer Solstice approaches and we reach the longest day of the year when the Sun is at it's zenith, we can get all hot and bothered some of the secret and wonderful uses of particular herbs. For instance, some traditions believe that at this time of year, if you want to banish all blues and bad luck, then you can take a small bag of both lavender and vervain and then place all your worries into it before burying it along with all your concerns as well. Other herbs, fruits and florals that have healing and magical powers at this time of year include wild thyme (thought to attract good health when burned or worn on the body while giving a great night's sleep when placed under the pillow at night), chamomile (a calming and relaxing standard) and carnations (sometimes prominently placed in medical centers to get the patient steady on their feet). There are many ways to celebrate this special and sacred time of year, even eating Sun colored or orange food and drink will align your vibe with the season. Always remember, 'when the heart is heavy the Sun helps make it light

Also remember to have love and compassion in your heart for life and that includes the earth as it is the Creation - animals and people.
